Main applications
Temperature safety on hot water tanks, electric radiators and electro-thermal heating equipment. Fail-safe manual reset high limit, 20A, front mounting, small footprint. The Type 8X is the double pole version (DPNC).
Technical features
Housing: dimensions 42.3 × 37.3 × 23mm (without terminals and diaphragm).
Capillary: copper, capillary length 250mm, 500mm or 900mm. Black PVC sleeve on the capillary. Minimum capillary bending radius: 5mm. For technical reasons, a capillary longer than 900mm is not recommended. A 250mm capillary is not recommended for a calibration temperature above 90°C. Special lengths on request.
Bulb: copper, corkscrew type, for temperatures from 60 to 212°C. Straight uncoiled capillary available on request.
Temperature sensing element: liquid-filled thermostatic assembly whose boiling causes tripping of the contact. Therefore, unlike conventional liquid-filled systems, these thermostats are sensitive to atmospheric pressure and their reaction time is faster.
Terminals: four 6.35 × 0.8mm quick connect terminals, or two M4 input screw terminals and two 6.35 × 0.8mm tab terminals for connection to the heater. In the model with one auxiliary close on rise terminal, this output connection is a 6.35 × 0.8mm tab (mandatory). The 6.35 × 0.8mm tabs can have different bending angles, references on request (MOQ applies).
Adjustment: fixed setting.
Mounting: front bushing M10×1. Maximum recommended tightening torque of the M10×1 nut: 1N.m (with a 3.5mm thick nut).
Manual reset: fail-safe action, front access button.
Contacts: double pole single throw snap action contact, 20A 250V. Option: DPST + 1 close on rise auxiliary contact rated 1A 250V.
Maximum ambient temperature on head: 85°C. It must not be higher than the calibration temperature minus 10°C.
Pollution degree: 3 for use at 250V.
Not to be used at 400V.

With the 1A 250V auxiliary close on temperature rise contact, replace 8XA by 8XB or 8XC by 8XD in the reference.
The maximum manual reset set point is 212°C ±12°C. Ask for specific data sheets.
